Hometown Hope Benefit - 2018
The Second Annual Hometown Hope Benefit Took place Saturday, March 3 in the parish hall at Grace Episcopal Church, 123 W. Washington Street. The event offered two open house opportunities to learn about and contribute to the work of Diversity Serves. The event featured refreshments, homemade and provided by local restaurants, along with opportunities to browse tables with items for silent auction and sale, including jewelry crafted by women in South Sudan, gift certificates and unique items from many local businesses, gifts for children, art and antiques, books signed by regional authors, and much more. Silent auction items were arranged according to themes: "From Africa to Appalachia," "Diversity Treasures and Treats, "Children's Choices and Challenges," "Opportunities! On and Off the Road," "Women's Empowerment and Education," and "Housewares for Hope House." Information on each table will educate participants about the various projects of Diversity Serves, and how donations will be spent.
